Here we go into fall! Autumn's a lovely season, especially when you're surrounded by trees. September's weather has been a mix of summer's sweat and autumn's breeze--I still wake up sweating, but the night has been noticeably filled with a cold crisp. Speaking of crisp, the leaves are ready for foot stomping and pressed collections. :')

I've been back at school for about a week and a half, getting settled in and trying to figure out the groove of my classes; that's why I haven't been on, but I'm excited for the rest of this month, hopefully filled with more reviews & films!

☆ September Favorites ☆

Over the course of a month, we're exposed to all sorts of content. But sometimes, it's delving into old things for the first time that feels fresh and new.

Media

  • TV-wise, it's all HGTV, all the time. Fixer Upper's been a frequent watch lately--and guess what? In October, season 1 of Fixer Upper's heading straight to Netflix!
  • On the 8th, I watched Kiki's Delivery Service, and it was such a magical movie (literally). It's been a classic for many fans, and I'm really fond of the friendly atmosphere. And all those bread scenes, goodness gracious. That opening scene inside Kiki's house is A+++. Dream goals right there.
  • I mostly listen to my collection of writing music everywhere I go, and one of the musicians on that collection is Sleeping At Last. Generally, I'm always in the mood for winter listening to them, but for fall? It's a lovely background for all your walks as the leaves fall down. Combining a beautiful voice with the softest melodies--it reminds me of late evenings and gathering your thoughts before you finally go to bed (and sleep, at last).

Other People's Words

  • I finished The Book Thief this month, and you can read more about what I thought right here on the blog! This morning I finished Horrorstor, and a review of that is coming later on. :) Last week I read Life with a Sprinkle of Glitter, a lifestyle book that very much felt welcoming, even if a bit silly at times (review also coming up). Out of the three I would definitely recommend The Book Thief, but if the other two cross your mind, I can fill that curiosity later with some reviews.
  • This blog dedicated to concepts, imaginings of the mind as your thoughts consider an alternate form of existence.
  • This collection of image captions from Alain de Botton's Art as Therapy.
    • my favorite image caption: the art we love is a guide to what is missing from our societies.
  • I sent Max an ask made from a prompt--a time and a color, and here is the gorgeous piece they wrote.

Let's raise our hopes to October, and hope it treats us better than the rest of our years.

Love,

Dianne
