Garcia graduated with a major in history & a minor in writing at the University of California, San Diego, where in 2016 she won the Dr. Milton H.
Saier, Sr. Memorial Award in Fiction. Although it is easier to
downplay her existential crisis by avoiding any instance of
stargazing, she enjoys interstellar catastrophes and flower-filled
fairytales. She personally prefers her stories to glow in the
dark—that way, she can light a new path every night. You can find
her tweeting @alevatross, plucking influences from dreamscapes and
garden beds.
