Ducks Galore
Last Friday, I enjoyed my day with my (best!) friend Hazelle. Together we memed so much.
That's right, we were surrounded
by a dozen ducks, most of them
ready to eat our souls/sandwiches.
The day started early in the morning, when I went over to her house. There, we cooked scones abd prepared our lunch picnic while watching Markiplier videos about... strange Sonic videos. That was a journey in itself tbh
So we made the scones, packed them up in cute little cardboard boxes, and headed over to our old high school in the blistering heat (last Friday the high was a stunning 103 degrees Fahrenheit! the horror).
While over at our old high school, the people at the office didn't accept us immediately because they thought we were just dropping in unexpectedly (we weren't). A phone call from our teacher later, we were allowed to slip in, spying on her fifth & sixth period classes. We decorated the skeleton hanging from the ceiling. Skeleton decorating is a tradition from our years, and this time's theme was Miss Pacific Ocean in the style of Birth of Venus.
After that, we headed to Harveston Park, and sat down at the single picnic table surrounded by ducks. That, also, was a journey.
"Take a picture for the aesthetics" -HazelleWe had lettuce-tomato-avocado sandwiches (+turkey in my case), water, scones, fruit on pastries (and a ton of whipped cream). Oh, and nectarines. Shoutout to Hazelle for her A+ picnic aesthetics. (The last time we used this picnic basket, it was senior year and we were with the rest of our friends, having a picnic on the field before watching our school's production of Sweeney Todd).
Hazelle made her own whipped cream as well as her own puff pastries!! She's very talented and I'm so very proud of her. (Also, she's great at food planning. It's incredible how I pale in comparison and I am in eternal awe whenever I'm in her presence.)
The lake is gorgeous, though. Can't deny that view. Fountains sometimes spurt out from either side of the lake. There are ducks everywhere. There's a playground on the other side. Most importantly, there are willow trees and gazebos everywhere in case you want to relax somewhere.
Love, Dianne
{The memers themselves--sorry for the glare
on my glasses lmaooooo it happens, it happens.}
The ducks surrounding us really wanted food, but generally only got crumbs because we were too busy scarfing our sandwiches down. There were flies targeting us. I have a feeling they deliberately seek out picnic-goers.
The houses in Harveston are... strange, that's for sure. Vaguely suburban apocalyptic. They're all very close to each other and they look very nice aesthetically, but I assume they're very high in price. Also, I can't even imagine fitting a family in those homes. I'm sure they're community-oriented, but anything with a community vibe creeps me out (100% true I'm not lying).
