a little music for everyone
I listened to Shanghai Jazz the other day for background music, and I'd have to say I still really love it. When I think of Shanghai in the 30s/40s, I think of a blooming culture snipped short due to the Cultural Revolution; I think of a global hotspot and cultural interchange.
One day I'd love to visit Shanghai. That's one of the cities on my to-go list when I actually have the funds + confidence to travel.
Of course, I don't know as much as I should about culture and historical context, so I'm not as well-versed in Shanghai Jazz as I'd like to be. But plenty of books and more research can help with that.
Here's the playlist I've been listening to lately!
